NUBSLI is extremely proud to be able to officially launch our new Freelance Interpreter Guidance.

The committee has worked tirelessly to create what we hope will be a really useful tool for trainees, newly qualified and potentially more seasoned freelance colleagues.

The pack contains a plethora of information, which we hope will answer the questions you may have, and maybe even some you hadn’t thought of yet. Moving into the realm of freelance interpreting can be daunting; especially for trainee and early career RSLIs and often these colleagues are out there without a lot of guidance.

In order to create this guide, we started by thinking about the queries and confusion that we had experienced in those early days, and then worked together to create a resource to answer these concerns, or at least point interpreters in the right direction! We also included all the tips and hints that we wish we’d been told.

The pack presents impartial information, allowing freelance interpreters to make informed choices. We feel that this information pack along with our new buddy initiative will really make a difference to those colleagues who need support.

If you have any questions or queries about the pack, we’d love to hear from you. Send us a message using our online form or email us on communications@nubsli.com. For further information about the buddying initiative, or to access or become a buddy, please email tibuddy@nubsli.com.
